Requesting an Assignment

Step 1:
Click on the “Full Schedules” tab.
Step 2:
Click on the appropriate month.
Step 3:
To choose an event, click on any date for which you know you are available. All events and available positions for that date will then display.
All events have alternate spots listed. These give you first right of refusal if an opening becomes available. Don't hesitate to take these as we often use most or all our alternates.
If you see an event with only Alternates listed, that means we do not have our assigned stand yet, so we do not know the type of positions that are needed. We will assign those signed up into the correct positions after we receive that information from the venue.
Most of our opportunities are for certified members. Certified means trained to serve alcohol. This virtual training is offered at various times throughout the year by venues plus Saint Amelia offers several in-person options. Dates of upcoming training sessions are announced via email to all members. The certification is good for three years.
Click on “Volunteer Now” to request a particular position. The shift and event will then display in a small window. If you have made a mistake, you can click “Nevermind” to cancel the request. It is best to consult your calendar and only sign up for the shifts that you know you can make to minimize sub requests. Make sure you are choosing the correct venue/event as sometimes we have multiple options on one date (hot dates).
Step 4:
After you sign up for an event, you will receive an email, typically within 24 hours, that indicates your request has been processed. You are then responsible for that shift. You will receive a reminder email three days before and on the day of the event from the scheduling software. Note that alternates also receive the reminders. Alternates do not show up unless they've been contacted and confirmed to move into a "real" spot. One day prior to shift, an email will be sent from the coordinator with venue/event specific information.
